UKKO London sponsored the latest 66 Pro Tour event at the Addington Golf Club last Tuesday.

We were represented on the day by UKKO Ambassador (and former Trilby Tour winner) Charlie Lidyard who wore a White ”UKKO London”  Cap, an UKKO Black Cotton Polo, an UKKO  Black/Yellow Belt. Scroll down to see some pics of Charlie in action.

Also playing at the event, was 66 Pro Tour Managing Director Paul Gilbert who wore an UKKO Puree Red “Vigo” Polo.

The winner of the event, Lee James, was presented with an UKKO Provincial Blue “Vigo” Polo in the clubhouse afterwards.

Located only 13 miles from the centre of London, The Addington is ranked among Golf World’s Top 100 courses in Britain. It was designed in 1912 by John Frederick Abercromby who has since been known as ‘one of the finest architects in all of golf’.

The Addington’s heritage, 66ProTour’s players, UKKO’s luxury clothing and a lot of sunshine combined to create a top day.

Quick thanks also go to former Ryder Cup winner and 66ProTour Ambassador Ronan Rafferty for buying some UKKO gear for his son.

Ambassador Laurence Knott led a crack fourball team to victory in the third Swing for Sammy charity golf day at Muswell Hill Golf Club, North London on 30th July 2010.

Swing for Sammy celebrates the life and honours the courage of Samantha Trow (nee St John), who died on 18 February 2008, aged 26. In the first two years the event has raised over £33,000 for Cancer Research.

Kitted out in Ukko’s Puree Red Vigo Polos the team drew admiring glances from the field of 140 competitors. Inspired by their team colours, Team Elk racked up 10 birdies to post an early clubhouse score of 96 points that was not to be bettered.

Accepting first prize team captain Laurence, Director of Urban Elk Consultants said:

“Swing for Sammy is a fantastic charity golf day, raising thousands of pounds for a great cause. We dressed for success, bonding in our Ukko gear to tear up the course in fine fashion. We’re already looking forward to defending our title next year. Thanks to Nick and all at Ukko for sponsoring our team and helping to keep us cool n fresh on the course. Expect to see plenty more Ukko kitted out members at Muswell Hill soon…”

The winning team were Muswell Hill members (l-r)

Matthew Davies (14 handicap), Steve Serris (8), captain Laurence Knott (9) and Jem Butcher (10)

Our sixth Pro spotlight focuses on Professional Matt Dearden. The format is simple: we ask a few questions, they answer and you get to see what makes them tick.

We’re proud to have recently to co-sponsored a Pro-Am event at world famous boutique hotel & celebrity haunt The Grove alongside TaylorMade. The event, hosted by the 66 Pro Tour, was open to 72 amateurs playing alongside 24 regular 66ProTour players.

UKKO were represented by two teams on the day; one of the teams wore UKKO Puree Red Vigo Polos and the others showed off their UKKO Racing Vigo Polo. Among the team members were UKKO sponsored Pro Chris Cousins, highly rated young professional Callum Scott, emerging Pro Scott Beadle and UKKO Ambassador Dave Horsman.

This premier resort was recently voted in Golf World’s Top 100 and featured in the Peugeot Golf Guide, so it goes without saying it’s a top pad, and the amount of celebrities who hide-away there are testament that – so as you can imagine, the guys wearing UKKO fitted in perfectly.

The course itself was a challenge, especially in high winds, but our teams did the brand proud both coming in the top 5. The day was capped off with a great spread and a few beers… looking forward to the next one – get on it 66!

Here are some of the pictures of the day:
