Another great update from one of our Tour Pro Ambassadors! Read on to find out how Sam did in the first event at the Europro Tour this year!
In the 1st of this years Europro Tour events Sam recorded rounds of 75 (+2) 77 (+4) and 74 (+1) for a total of 226 (+7). This score tied for 14th place (of 156 starters) and 8 shots behind the eventual winner.
It has to be said, the playing conditions were the same for everyone but Sam struck the ball beautifully and was only let down by the poor early season putting surfaces. Unfortunately it does nothing for your confidence on the greens when you stand over a 3ft putt not knowing which way its going to BOBBLE!
Over the 54 holes Sam had 35 make able birdie putts from inside 15ft but only converted 8. Additionally to add to his putting woes he 3 putted from inside 10ft on no less than 6 occasions and was fully exasperated when in round 2 playing the 18th he hit 2 magnificent shots at the 483yd par 5 – 18th to 3ft and then took a further 4 putts to finish the hole!
It’s a real pity this event isn’t played later in the year when perhaps the greens are probably a lot smoother and are more putt-able.

“I have just arrived back from Paris where I had an interesting week. My car broke down 15 minutes from the venue, Golf D’ Rebetz. This meant I did not have a car for the week and spent hours on the phone trying to get it fixed. They eventually did the work after I went to the garage yesterday after the final round and launched a sit down protest!
Golf wise I was pretty happy despite all the off-course stress and distraction. I did not play particularly well but worked hard and grinded out the scores. I shot -1 from the bad side of the draw on day 1, -3 on day 2 that could have easily been 2 or 3 over and a disappointing even par on the last day. -4 was good for 23rd.
I made €525 and my car cost €520!
I have a week off now before a long stretch. The game is pretty close.”
