When we received this pic we thought it was a little random. A few guys on the course with Bill Roache from Corrie and Craig Phillips from Big Brother…

But, when we realised it was from Oli Willson, the Celebrity Manager at Sports & Celebrity Agency ChampionsUK, it all seemed to make a little more sense. We’re sure there were some tales to tell, even though it’s possibly the most bizarre 4-ball posted on our blog to date!

Either way, we like the fact he was already out-smarting his opponents by wearing a Blueberry “Crispin” Polo.

Ericsson were one of the key sponsors at the 2011 Ray Wilkins Charity Golf Day at Foxhills GC supporting the Starlight Children’s Charity. Joining UKKO Amateur Ambassador Malcolm Glen in UKKO were ex-fottballers Steve Coppell and Neil Cox.

Malcolm’s team of Steve Coppell, Steve Haines and Mick Wayman came 3rd overall (out of 33) and were definitely the best dressed!!

As you can see from the pictures below, the teams were wearing our Palace Blue “Avery” and Wine Red “Crispin” polo’s.

The 2011 Breakthrough Cup can only be described as a huge success.

First and foremost the charity was well supported and a lot of money was raised.

Secondly everyone had a great time… The Belfry Brabazon provided a great test of golf to all involved and the Champagne Reception / Dinner / Prize Giving were great fun.

Thirdly and most importantly for this blog was that we had some of our football idols in UKKO gear. Amazing for the brand.

Amongst those adorning our Pink Break “Vigo” Polo were;

- Robbie Fowler
- John Barnes
- Teddy Sheringham
- Lee Dixon
- Steve Harkness
- Jay Bothroyd
- Maik Taylor
- Simon Grayson
- Michael Duff

+ many other Premiership stars past & present.

It was also nice of Chris Evans to chopper in for a quick round too.. and take the mick out of our attempts to find the green on the 10th.

All in all a great day, thanks to everyone who helped to organise it.

UKKO Ambassador & Champions UK Celebrity Manager Oli Wilson recently sent in a picture with snooker legend Willie Thorne during the Age Concern Golf Day at Kilworth Springs GC. Oli is wearing our Blueberry “Strype” Polo.

If you have any pictures on the course or with a celeb in your UKKO gear please send us a copy to contact@ukko.com.

Following on from our previous post, the trusty UKKO camera was again used sparingly on our recent trip to the PGA at Wentworth. We must of had other things to do…

It came to life just in time to picture G-Mac who was sitting 5 ft away giving a few words of wisdom in the BMW tent. Good timing.

This photo has no connection to UKKO other than we were there and took the shot as he’s not in our clothing… yet…

It’s not often an Olympic legend starts rifling round your drawers. So we stopped him and asked for a quick picture which he was of course happy to provide.

It’s the only picture of our presence at this years GolfLive event at The London Club. The memory card wasn’t exactly overworked but it came up trumps when called on.

Hope you’re liking the shirts Steve. If you’re wondering, he ended up choosing Palace Blue “Avery” and Coral Orange “Crispin” Polo’s… both awesome tops, especially with a tan.

It’s not every day that one of the best rugby coaches in the land wears your clothing so we thought we’d spread the news.

As you can see from the pic, Mike and one of our Partners (Mark Bennett who runs PDSCoach) are in our Midnight Blue & White “Avery” and Midnight Blue “Crispin” polos respectively.

Looking good chaps

We just wanted to say well played to Scottish International Wing Simon Danielli who had a great game against England at the weekend. Unfortunately (!) Scotland narrowly missed out, but we’re happy to say he was ok to have a few shots in his Racing Green “Vigo” Polo alongisde Ulster Rugby teammate and Ireland International Ian Humphreys (in White/Burgundy “Avery” Polo).

A Scottish guy with an English accent who now plays in N.Ireland next to his Irish mate who used to play in England. Like UKKO, unique and truly British…

You’ll also be glad to hear that both tops come in sizes Small > XX-Large so no need to leg it to the gym just yet. Speaking of which, we’re late for our front row training session so best sign off.

Thanks for posing lads and good luck for the rest of the season..

The first ever Breakthrough Cup, hosted by golf legend Darren Clarke, took place on Sunday 16th May 2010 at The Brabazon golf course at the Belfry. We at UKKO were delighted to have been chosen as one of the sponsors for this prestigous event alongside other premium brands including Mercedes-Benz, Vpar and Sky Sports.

The main purpose of the event was to raise funds and awareness for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity and we were more than happy to design and provide a new “Breakthrough” Pink Vigo polo for all of the players to wear.

The event saw 2 footballers from each Premiership club compete on the 18 hole course. Ultimately, Maik Taylor – Birmingham City and Northern Ireland International – was crowned ‘The Best Golfer in Football’.

Patron of the Breakthrough Cup, Darren Clarke, has been a strong supporter of breast cancer research since his wife passed away after a long struggle with breast cancer in 2006. He invited celebrities, sponsors and the public to support the event and its worthy cause.

The Special Edition “Breakthrough” Pink Polos worn at the event will soon be available for purchase at UKKO’s online store and for every sale £5 will be donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

On Wednesday 1st July we sponsored one of our first events, the LINC charity golf day at Lilleybrook Golf Club, an Alistair MacKenzie designed course on the outskirts of Cheltenham.

LINC – The Leukaemia & Intensive Chemotherapy Fund – is a Cotswolds based charity and a worthy cause as we’re sure you’ll agree.

We were also lucky enough to be playing with the legendary England footballer Sir Geoff Hurst which was a fitting way to launch our British brand.
The other members of the team were businessman Terry Hopley (who used to co-own a golf course in Australia with Ian Baker-Finch) and UKKO sponsored Pro Steve Smith, who’s the Head UrbanGolf professional.

More on Steve soon, but even though we didn’t win(!), it was an awesome round and one we’re privileged to have been involved in. Pics below.
