EXCLUSIVE: NEW AMBASSADOR LOGO
For the past six months we have been working hard with a London Brand Agency to create an exclusive logo, which will only be available to our Ambassadors. We are pleased to announce it will be launched at Golf Live, so it would be great if you can come along to see it.
More details to be announced soon…
The all new “Vigo” is the smart/casual Polo from Collection:2.
Available in 3, 100% on-trend colours…
- Provincial Blue
- Puree Red
- Racing Green
… this premium quality garment is the perfect addition to our latest range. Its sits nicely between our more casual original Cotton polo’s and the new smart “Crispin” and “Avery” polo’s, making it an ideal garment for on & off the course.
It’s made from the finest Double Pique fabric available and combines all of the usuals you’d expect from an UKKO garment - contemporary styling, functional design and attention to detail.
It features an updated Titanium logo which is slightly smaller & more streamline to the top than the one on our previous polo’s and contrast hand-stitch detailing across the back yoke.
New and unique additions include a titanium lurex thread on the top button, 4-way label stitch detailing on the back neck, 4-button placket and a white mercerized cotton inner collar strip.
All of our attention to detail makes it stand out from the any other Pique polo you’d find on the racks and at a mere £34.95 it’s a wardrobe essential… so take a look and get one for yourself here now…
Oh, and before you ask – it’s called “Vigo” because as with all the apparel in Collection:2, it’s named after one of our favourite places in London. Vigo St in Mayfair…
Collection:2, which includes brand new Polo’s, Summer Knitwear, T-shirts & accessories has now launched! See it at www.ukko.com now..
We went to one of the many local factories we work with yesterday to see our new design Flexfit cap on the embroidery machine – pictures of the trial sample below. This factory in the Cotswolds is an awesome outfit, providing top quality embroidery services. And rather than waiting weeks for the boat to come in, we’re picking the whole lot up at the end of the week too… who says local isn’t best.
There are 4 colours of the new cap in the pipeline and they should be exclusively available to buy on http://www.ukko.com/ v soon so keep an eye out.
In the meantime, take a look at the other UKKO headwear available…
Traditional Methods:Modern Garments
We wanted to provide a range of socks that are pure quality and a little bit different. So, being that we try to produce as much of our stuff in the UK as we can, we started searching for a factory that could produce some socks for us in the UK. Not easy!
But, after months of searching and quality control, we ended up at 1 of only 4 remaining sock factories in the UK near Leicester, and when we got there, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. With so many ordinary socks on the market, we wanted colour, quality and comfort all rolled into one and Robert’s factory produces exactly that.
The machinery he has there is quite simply amazing – think Charlie & the Chocolate factory for socks. (See below for pics). Different coloured yarns everywhere, spinning and knitting machines going at it hammer and tong, 24/7. We were transfixed.
Robert has obviously seen this reaction many times - grown men standing there as the wheels and cogs turn around you, taking in yarn at one end and spitting out a finished sock at the other. It’s old news to him, but you could still see his enthusiasm for what he did. He has some old-fashioned machines and some state-of-the-art… which is exactly how we like it. Traditional methods to produce modern garments.
Not only that, but after his machines have done their bit, he sends them all to another local factory to get the toes hand-linked. So the time and effort that goes into each and every one of these is exactly why you can’t get better in the UK. And you can trust us when we say they’re comfy.. man they’re comfy.
So, when we dragged ourselves away, we chose 3 excellent lines of socks to complement our range.
Multi stripe socks - For the guy who like to show off. (Usually us)
Contrast socks – For more conservative guys with an edge
Check sock – Iconic style for the more traditional golfer.
All machine washable, and all 90% Pure New wool for comfort and a hint of Nylon to make them last longer.
The colours are out there we know, but that sometimes how we roll. And as they’re usually under your trousers, we thought it’s an extravagance anyone can get away with. Not only that, but it makes for a bit of banter half way round the course too which is never a bad thing.
So take a look at our range of premium quality woollen socks which are perfect for Xmas presents and don’t forget we’re doing a mix & match offer so you for only £24.95 you can have all 3 pairs – each one to suit a different mood.
if you have any colour suggestion then please get in contact as we’d like to hear from you.. they can literally produce anything. And we have plenty more in the pipeline…
Some pics we took when we were there….
We’re excited to say that there’s a new t-shirt in development and it’ll be available v soon! This new addition to our range is being specifically produced for the Autumn & Spring, for you to wear casually or as a base layer when out on the course. It’s made from 100% organic cotton & of course, made in the UK.
As you can see from the pics, they’ve just been hand-printed in London by designers Mika & Gav and are currently winging their way up to our Nottingham factory to get stitched up.
If you have any question, suggestion or comments about these or ideas for other items, please email us at contact@ukko.com
More updates soon…
So this is one of the reasons we differ from the other brands out there;
“We didn’t want our brand to be just another embroidered logo on the racks and I wanted to create a strong identity that would make us stand out from our competitors. Of course it had to look
good and have a golf theme too, so we looked at the best clubs in the world, how they’re made and thought that using a premium metal – titanium – as our logo would be pretty cool… and it’s fine at 30 degrees too…”
