Big shout goes out to Nicholas Burch who won the inaugural event and congratulations to B&O for helping  develop the Junior game in Wiltshire.

They polo’s they’re using are;

Racing Green “Vigo” Polo
- Provincial Blue “Vigo” Polo
- Puree Red “Vigo” Polo

Pics of the 3 x shirts….

UKKO Ambassador & Champions UK Celebrity Manager Oli Wilson recently sent in a picture with snooker legend Willie Thorne during the Age Concern Golf Day at Kilworth Springs GC. Oli is wearing our Blueberry “Strype” Polo.

If you have any pictures on the course or with a celeb in your UKKO gear please send us a copy to contact@ukko.com.

Following on from our previous post, the trusty UKKO camera was again used sparingly on our recent trip to the PGA at Wentworth. We must of had other things to do…

It came to life just in time to picture G-Mac who was sitting 5 ft away giving a few words of wisdom in the BMW tent. Good timing.

This photo has no connection to UKKO other than we were there and took the shot as he’s not in our clothing… yet…

It’s not often an Olympic legend starts rifling round your drawers. So we stopped him and asked for a quick picture which he was of course happy to provide.

It’s the only picture of our presence at this years GolfLive event at The London Club. The memory card wasn’t exactly overworked but it came up trumps when called on.

Hope you’re liking the shirts Steve. If you’re wondering, he ended up choosing Palace Blue “Avery” and Coral Orange “Crispin” Polo’s… both awesome tops, especially with a tan.

It’s not every day that one of the best rugby coaches in the land wears your clothing so we thought we’d spread the news.

As you can see from the pic, Mike and one of our Partners (Mark Bennett who runs PDSCoach) are in our Midnight Blue & White “Avery” and Midnight Blue “Crispin” polos respectively.

Looking good chaps

It’s something we didn’t expect… our clothing (Pink Break “Vigo” Polo’s to be precise) will be seen in the Mongol Rally 2011 on a team of lads from Birmingham.

Duncan, Ashley, Adam & Jamie will be covering 10,00 miles in a far from suitable Diahatsu with the aim of raising as much money as possible for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Good work guys.

Good luck fellas..

We just wanted to say well played to Scottish International Wing Simon Danielli who had a great game against England at the weekend. Unfortunately (!) Scotland narrowly missed out, but we’re happy to say he was ok to have a few shots in his Racing Green “Vigo” Polo alongisde Ulster Rugby teammate and Ireland International Ian Humphreys (in White/Burgundy “Avery” Polo).

A Scottish guy with an English accent who now plays in N.Ireland next to his Irish mate who used to play in England. Like UKKO, unique and truly British…

You’ll also be glad to hear that both tops come in sizes Small > XX-Large so no need to leg it to the gym just yet. Speaking of which, we’re late for our front row training session so best sign off.

Thanks for posing lads and good luck for the rest of the season..

We live in a truly strange country. The last few weeks, epitomised by the uproar after Rob Green’s miscarriage of a football have truly shown that for some reason, we reside in this whirlwind, cutthroat country where anger, dismay, betrayal, and annoyance peek round every corner. It’s like people have a tirade of vuvuzelas going off in their minds with each passing second.

Before people (well mainly women, but let’s not be sexist) go on holiday they often say the motive is to ‘get away from things’. Therefore, to find the precious and rare jewel of salvation on our own shores was a hard to come by luxury for me.

The ability to during summer, roll up to your local track, and become immersed in such an organically pure microcosm within the bizarre nature of our fine land, pays testament to the game. And the game is golf. Casual – now that’s how golf is supposed to be played, think not of a good walk ruined, but a stroll in the company of your mates, there not to win the half-quid Nassau but to relax, take it easy, and escape.

After an exam-ridden month, which unfortuitously led to a lack of golf, a return into a casual round was my salvation. I say casual, I should add Smart Casual, of course clobbered in the finest UKKO garments, on this occasion consisting of the sharp Black V-Neck, paired with the Black belt, and some black p-stripes, in tandem with the white polo to complete this slickly defined, ever-classy, and highly recommendable number – to add a touch of panache into the proceedings.

The golf itself prospered despite the break from the sport as I steadily put together some tasty numbers in early holes, before a missed fairway brought the first bogey half way through. In the true casual spirit of the pursuit I didn’t let it bother me, forgot about it, and ended up carding a more than adequate summer evening 36 (+2) for the nine holes that endured, and loved.

I wouldn’t say this has been a cautionary tale, but I urge you, just sit back, relax and frankly don’t give a vuvuzela for once. Please take it easy, enjoy the run in to summer and all the while look classy in your garms, and until next time…

Here’s to letting it slide.

“In short, UKKO is a brand one could easily see worn by James Bond, especially if Goldfinger were ever to be remade with a modern twist.” – Chapeau Noir

We often get written about by all types of bloggers, but we rarely have better reviews than this, from a blogger who has the ear of many a fashion savvy golfer.

Worth a read and then some…

The Countryside, Irreverence, David Beckham, James Bond, UKKO and Stoke Park Club – a list of things that are quintessentially British. The latter two a soon to be joined at O2 GolfLive, were also experienced by myself this Friday. As I drove (or more to the point was driven) up the grand and somewhat commanding drive and pulled round in front of the astonishing clubhouse I was reminded of the tradition this place was steeped in. They’ve had scenes from two Bond films there, seeing Connery’s Bond beat Auric Goldfinger on the last (Goldfinger 1964), then again scenes were shot here for Tomorrow Never Dies in ’97. Clad in my UKKO garms which shone in the sunlight that hinted a premature beginning to the Great British summer, (what I like to call ‘Cider Advert Weather’) I bounded up the steps on which Daniel Craig lay dying in the end of gangster film ‘Layer Cake’. All these factors made one thing pretty clear, this was the club that typified what UKKO is about – British perfection, to every last detail. From the manicured greens of Stoke Park, to the finely sewn Merino Wool on the knitwear they add up
