UKKO Tour Professional Jason Kelly bagged his first win of the season on the Alps Tour at the weekend.

Jason, who plays out of Wentworth, (wearing the Coral Orange “Crispin” polo and Special Edition Stripe Tan “Titanium” Belt) shot an incredible 8-under par 64 on day 2 to create an un-assailable lead going into the final round.

He also made history by being the first player from Norway to ever win a tournament on the Alps Tour. As a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the circuit, Kelly wrote this chapter in Italy at Zoate Open golf. He shot 73 to win by two strokes over France’s Rémi Dupuis.

Jason Kelly said : “I did not pay really well today and honestly Rémi helped me by doing this double bogey on the 17th. Today was windy and it was harder that during the first two rounds. I played the pro am with amateurs knowing very well the course and they gave me really good advises to deal with the layout of the course. I am obvioulsy happy for this
first win on the Alps Tour, the fourth of my career. I am now 9th at the ranking and I hope play Challenge Tour soon.”

This recent sunshine has drawn us out of blog hibernation to say hello to the new golfing year.. don’t worry, we haven’t been kipping… we’ve been beavering away organising, designing and developing a load of new products, sponsorships and events for 2011.

UKKO London was present at the latest 66 Pro Tour event at the Addington Golf Club last Tuesday.

We were represented on the day by UKKO Ambassador (and former Trilby Tour winner) Charlie Lidyard who wore a White ”UKKO London”  Cap, an UKKO Black Cotton Polo, an UKKO  Black/Yellow Belt. Scroll down to see some pics of Charlie in action.

Also playing at the event were 66 Pro Tour Managing Director Paul Gilbert -who wore an UKKO Puree Red “Vigo” Polo-, Ryder Cup legend Ronan Rafferty, and well-known ex-European Tour player Gary Evans.

The winner of the event, Lee James, was presented with an UKKO Provincial Blue “Vigo” Polo in the clubhouse afterwards.

Located only 13 miles from the centre of London, The Addington is ranked among Golf World’s Top 100 courses in Britain. It was designed in 1912 by John Frederick Abercromby who has since been known as ‘one of the finest architects in all of golf’.

The Addington’s heritage, 66ProTour’s players, UKKO’s luxury clothing and a lot of sunshine combined to create a top day.

We’re proud to have recently partnered Taylormade at a Pro-Am event at world famous boutique hotel & celebrity haunt The Grove. The event, hosted by the 66 Pro Tour, was open to 72 amateurs playing alongside 24 regular 66ProTour players.

UKKO were represented by two teams on the day; one of the teams wore UKKO Puree Red Vigo Polos and the others showed off their UKKO Racing Vigo Polo. Among the team members were UKKO sponsored Pro Chris Cousins, highly rated young professional Callum Scott, emerging Pro Scott Beadle and UKKO Ambassador Dave Horsman.

This premier resort was recently voted in Golf World’s Top 100 and featured in the Peugeot Golf Guide, so it goes without saying it’s a top pad, and the amount of celebrities who hide-away there are testament that – so as you can imagine, the guys wearing UKKO fitted in perfectly.

The course itself was a challenge, especially in high winds, but our teams did the brand proud both coming in the top 5. The day was capped off with a great spread and a few beers… looking forward to the next one – get on it 66!

We were delighted to find out that fashion enthusiasts reviewed UKKO in the German site Golf.de. Jessica Stüer posts a blog about the latest trend and accessories in golf fashion. We have received a great response from the German public within just a few days of having appeared on the blog.
